Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis tingkat aksesibilitas pendidikan menengah, mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi aksesibilitas pendidikan menengah dan mendeskripsikan pengembangan aksesibilitas pendidikan menengah di Kab. Kotawaringin Barat. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dan kualitatif dengan menggunakan data primer dan sekunder. Metode yang dipergunakan antara lain metode analisis indeks sentralitas, analisis tetangga terdekat, analisis tingkat pelayanan jumlah sarana berdasarkan standard, analisis wilayah pelayanan (isoline) dan analisis sistem transportasi, analisis faktor dan analisis SWOT IFAS - EFAS. Hasil studi ini adalah tingkat aksesibilitas pendidikan menengah cukup baik, kondisi jaringan jalan yang melalui sekolah 78%, pelayanan angkutan umum belum dapat melayani pendidikan menengah, rute angkutan umum masih ada 3 kecamatan dan 8 pendidikan menengah yang belum mendapatkan pelayanan. Pelayanan sarana pendidikan menengah dari hirarki tinggi ke rendah adalah Kecaman Arut Selatan, Kumai, Pangkalan Banteng, Pangkalan Lada, Kotawaringin Lama dan Arut Utara. Pola persebaran permukiman adalah acak sedangkan pola persebaran sekolah, mengelompok. Berdasarkan standard jenjang SLTA masih dalam kondisi buruk. Faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi aksesibilitas pendidikan menengah yaitu; faktor fasilitas pendidikan, faktor sarana prasarana transportasi, faktor manajemen transportasi, faktor sosial ekonomi dan faktor tarif angkutan. Berdasarkan analisis SWOT IFAS-EFAS yaitu memanfaatkan potensi yang ada untuk menangkap peluang dengan mengatasi kelemahan berdasarkan skala prioritas.

Purpose of this research is to analyze accessibility level of secondary school, to identify factors affecting secondary education accessibility, and to describe accessibility development of secondary education in West Kotawaringin County. The used method is centrality index analysis, closest neighbor analysis, service level analysis on the number of means based on the standard, service area analysis (isoline) and transportation system analysis, factor analysis, and SWOT IFAS-EFAS analysis. The research result shows that accountability level of secondary level is good enough. Street network condition pass through the school is 78%. Public transportation service cannot service secondary education. There are still 3 sub-districts and 8 secondary-education public transportation routes, which do not get services. Secondary education means services from high to low hierarchy are South Arut, Kumai, Pangkalan Banteng, Pangkalan Lada, Old Kotawaringin and North Arut sub-districts. Residence distribution pattern is randomly while school distribution pattern is cliquish. Based on the standard, senior high school level is still in bad condition. Factors affecting secondary education accessibility are education facilities, transportation means, transportation management, social-economy, and transportation cost factors. Based on SWOT IFAS-EFAS analysis, it is utilizing the existing potency to grasp the opportunity by solving the weaknesses based on the priority scale.
